Tatum Zuber Receives Inaugural Parity Leadership Award

 A standout soccer player at Acalanes was named the winner of the first Parity Leadership Award.Parity, a mission-driven organization focusing on closing the gender pay gap in sports, announced that Tatum Zuber was chosen for the award because her record-breaking performance on the soccer field, inspirational leadership and team-first approach represent the highest standards in athletic competition.

Zuber was formally recognized at the school’s athletic awards ceremony May 17. She will receive a $500 scholarship and a commemorative glass award.

Zuber, a member of the 2023 senior class that is graduating Friday, led her Acalanes High School soccer team. She set the school record for most goals and assists, and helped lead the Dons to a state championship her freshman year and to the championship game her junior year. She will continue her soccer career this fall at Central Washington University.

“I am proud to recognize Tatum with our inaugural Parity Leadership Award, honoring an outstanding woman athlete who has demonstrated leadership on her team and in the community, with a particular focus on creating an environment of inclusion and equity,” said Bill Shelton, who co-founded Parity and funded the inaugural leadership award.
