Girls Varsity Soccer Falls to College Park

In their first league game, the Dons lost a tough one to College Park on Tuesday night. Again, the weather was not ideal with a very steady rainfall. The Dons set the tempo in the first half, controlling possession, several great shots on goal, and kept the pressure on their offensive half of the field but couldn’t convert. At half, the score was 0-0.

In the second half, around the 35-minute mark, Ivy Souza found Addie Bailey in the center, she dribbled around a couple of defenders and made an authoritative shot on goal to take the lead 1-0.

College Park answered back quickly to tie it up 1-1. The Dons couldn’t keep control and play their possession style of soccer…College Park was aggressive and played the long ball. They snuck one past the defense to take the lead 1-2. The Dons fought hard but couldn’t get one in the net.

Next up is crosstown rival Miramonte on Thursday in Orinda at 7pm.

Go DONS!
