Acalanes Wrestling wraps up the 2023-2024 season

Acalanes Wrestling wrapped up the 2023-2024 season this past weekend with 5 wrestlers competing at NCS. The boys were at James Logan High School Friday morning with Sophomore and first year Adam Caicedo, Junior Ian Sanftner and Captain Dylan Potter. Unfortunately, Dylan suffered an injury and had to be pulled early from his last high school career tournament. He finished the season with a record of 23-17. Ian and Adam had tough draws only getting one win between them. Ian finished the season at 19-15 and Adam had a short season after a run to state with football and finished 5-4. Both will be back next year looking to have a better showing at NCS.

Freshman Gwyneth Lee and Senior Captain Dakota Goyert represented the Acalanes girls. Gwyenth was in one of the toughest brackets in the tournament and gained a lot of great knowledge she can leverage over the next few years. Dakota wrapped up her Senior year standing on the podium in 7th place at NCS! Coach Nelsen decided to bump Dakota up a weight class before the tournament and she met the challenge finishing just short of the state tournament. In the last match of her career she was able to get a pin to win the 7th place match. Even more impressive when you consider she hurt her elbow in the 2nd match of the day. Dakota finishes her senior season with a record of 27-12 and the 1st NCS Girls Medalist from Acalanes! Go Dakota!

Thank you to Seniors Kian Marette, Lilou Picard, Dylan Potter and Dakota Goyert. Exciting times are ahead for Acalanes Wrestling. We hope you will join us on the mat next season!
