
Last Saturday, the Dons tracksters showed up to win at the NCS Tri Valley Championship. The top six in each event move on to the NCS Meet of Champions, as do athletes meeting the NCS performance standard. In a highly competitive NCS meet, 17 Acalanes athletes qualified to move on to this weekend’s Meet of Champions, held Friday and Saturday at Dublin High School.
On the field, Deonte Littlejohn started with a win and took first in both Discus 172-05 and Shotput 53-06 and will defend his NCS title at the Meet of Champions.
On the track, the girls 4×100 relay (Julia Munter, Cameron Thornton, Olivia Kemp, and Isabelle Agnost) ran their fastest time of the season and broke the all-time Acalanes record with 48.71, beating the previous record of 48.74, and which qualified them for the Meet of Champions.
The Acalanes boys 4×100 relay (Matthew Schwarz, Illias Kaplanes-Jones, Jackson Boselli, and River Lockwood) ran another fast race, taking second place in 41.51 (#3 on the Acalanes record board).
Illias Kaplanes-Jones placed 3rd place in Long Jump in 22.5, and qualified for the MOC on time in the 100 in 10.88 and the 200 in 21.71 (#2 on the Acalanes record board).
Cameron Thornton took 6thin the 400 in 58.22 (#4).
In the boys 400, Benjamin Mickelson ran 49.87 in the 400 to qualify on time.
Olivia Kemp qualified on time in the 300 Hurdles in 46.98 (#5).
River Lockwood ran a strong 300 Hurdles race, taking second place in 39.21.
Nevis Murphy qualified in both the 800 in 2:19.67 (#10), and the 1600 in 5:10.88.
Harry Zimmerman qualified in the 1600, running 4:24.80 (#6).
Jackson Boselli qualified for the 200 on time, running in 22.29 (#5)
Matthew Schwarz also qualified in the 200 in 22.31 200 (#6).
Our 4×400 boys relay (Julian Hood, Matthew Schwarz, Benjamin Mickelson, and River Lockwood) wrapped up the meet with a strong third place finish in 3:23.75.
On the field, Amari Hollins took 4th in the Discus in 109-10 to qualify for the MOC (#7 Acalanes)
Miles Moore took 4th in the Pole Vault in 13-9.
