Take Me Out to the… Garage, the Attic, the Closet

Somewhere in your garage, a closet, or the back corner of a dusty attic, there’s a piece of baseball history. Maybe it’s a glove that still holds the shape of your hand. A bat with pine tar stains. Cleats that carried you through a big hit,  or a perfect warm summer evening running the bases.  You might not have touched that gear in years, but for a kid who wants to play, it could mean everything.

That’s where Junior Giants comes in.

Junior Giants is a free, non-competitive baseball and softball program serving 30,000 youth ages 5–18 across the Bay Area, California, Oregon, and Nevada. The program is about more than baseball. It’s about confidence, teamwork, leadership, and belonging, all while keeping the game fun, safe, and inclusive for every child who steps on the field.  But for many families, the cost of equipment can be a barrier. A glove, bat, pants, or cleats may seem simple, but without them, a child may never get the chance to play.

That’s where you come in.

By donating new or gently used baseball and softball gear, you’re not just clearing out space; you’re opening doors. Your old equipment becomes a first glove. A first swing. A first team. A first moment where a kid feels like they belong.

What to Donate

  • Pants

  • Cleats

  • Gloves

  • Bats

If it’s something you’d still feel good handing to a teammate, it can help a young player today.

Drop-Off Location: Front of Acalanes High School

Dates & Times:

  • Saturday, January 10 | 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM

  • Saturday, February 7 | 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM

This is a small act with a big impact. One donation can help ensure that every kid gets to play, regardless of their background or circumstances. So take a few minutes. Dig through that old baseball bag. Pull out the gear that helped shape your love of the game. Then pass it on. Because baseball is better when it’s shared. And a community is stronger when we help the next generation step up to the plate.

Thank you for supporting our Bay Area Sports community.
