Tracksters Run Over Cougars, Boys Win League Championship, Records Abound

The final regular season meet of the years saw the Boys Varsity team dominate the Cougars, with a decisive 87-49 victory to finish the season undefeated and winning the league championship.  While the girls team did not prevail predominantly due to a lack team size, there were incredible performances across the events…where the girls competed, they were strong!

Fitting for the regular season finale of their senior year, generational standouts Trevor Rogers and Paul Kuhner pulled off very difficult and rare quad victories–Paul in the 100, 200, 4×100 and 4×400, Trevor in the 400 (PR 49.27, 4th best in ACA history and 1st in NCS), Long Jump, Triple Jump and 4×100–where the combined team of Rogers, Kuhner, Littlejohn and Glick–put themselves into the third best position in ACA history.  Senior Logan Farzan was right there wish his teammates with three first place wins in the 800, 1600 and 4×400 as was sophomore River Lockwood winning the 110 and 300 meter hurdles and running a strong first leg on the winning 4×400 team.

The Girls also team had a number of strong performances including double victories from senior Natalie Lyons in the long jump and 4×100 (and 2nd in the 100), junior Haley Chelemedos winning the 200 in a PR and 14th best ACA and the 4×100 (and taking 3rd in the 100 and PR third in shotput also #14 in ACA) and sophomore Tori Hiatt winning the 400 (PR and 20th spot in ACA) and 4×100–where the combined team of Lyons, Chelemedos, Thornton and Hiatt ran a season record 50.80, #1 in DAL.  Wins also came from veterans Olivia Wiliams 1600 and Dulci Vail HJ, and sophomore Alexis Le with PR in the the triple jump.

Boys–Colin Glick 3rd in the 100 and 200, Sophomore Harry Zimmerman PR 2nd in the 800, sophomore Edreece Warren 2nd in the 3200, sophomore Bryce Birdsong 3rd in the 110 meter hurdles, Kiran Foster third in the 300 hurdles, Jack Manful PR 2nd in the shotput, Deonte Littlejohn 2nd place in the discus, Miles Clark PR 3rd place in the discus, a high jump sweep with Cash Ricker,  Liam Gallacher and Drew McKenzie in 1st, 2nd and 3rd, Ace Reeder PR 2nd in the long jump and triple jump, Christopher Copeland 3rd in the triple jump and Niko White running a strong leg #2 in the winning 4×400 relay team. 

Girls–Cameron Thornton 2nd in the 200, Genevieve Tarsa 3rd in the 200 (a 200 meter sweep with teammate Haley Chelemedos), Neve Murphy 3rd in the 800, Megan Yee in a SR 3rd in the 3200, Shanice Williams 3rd in the 100 hurdles, Samantha Griscavage 3rd in the HJ and Lesley Trowbridge 3rd in the triple jump.
