DAL Swimming Championships – FINALS 4/27/24

What a great morning of swimming today!  The 200 Girls Relay finished 4th overall with an NCS time of 1:51.76! Ella Del Rosario finished 7th in the 200 Free, while Sophia Schwartz improved her time by nearly four seconds between prelims and finals – finishing 18th. Olivia Whipple was 19th and Brooke Rardin was 20th. Parker Etnyre finished 9th on the boys side (though he had the 6th fastest time overall) with a strong NCS time of 1:43.88! Cale Hanson and Andrew Tanimura improved their times, finishing 17th and 20th overall. Braden Dunton was 22nd.  

Taryn Veronda shaved a couple of tenths off her 5th place 200 IM time with a 2:13.07, and Anna Motes finished in 10th place.  Mason Schlehr and Jayden Hwang finished in 15th and 21st for the boys.  In the 50 Free, Liv Hoppe placed 18th with a time of 25.89, while Sophie Hendrickson and Juliet McIlwain finished 23rd and 24th.  For the boys, Alex Butler finally shaved the hundredths he was looking for, and earned an NCS Consideration time of 22.51, finishing 14th.  Hans Ramirez shaved 0.15 off his best tine this season, swimming 23.03. Jace Carter finished 23rd with a season best 23.52. 

In the 100 Fly, Kendall Lee swam a season best 1:01.82, finishing 10th.  In the 100 Free, Sadie Suppiger went 52.28, just 0.2 off an NCS time in her 3rd place finish. Ella Del Rosario finished 12th and Brooklyn Plomp finished 15th.  Parker Etnyre finished 4th in the boys race, with an NCS time of 47.29. Alex Butler finished 19th in 50.05 (just 0.06 off a consideration time) and Hans Ramirez finished 22nd with a 50.56. 

In the 500 races, Olivia Whipple dropped almost 4 seconds in her 15th place finish – 5:42.89, and Brooke Rardin dropped almost 2 seconds in her 18th place finish with a time of 5:55.57. Cale Hanson finished 17th with a strong time of 5:06.11, while Andrew Tanimura finished 19th, and Braden Dunton finished 24th.  

In the 200 Free Relays, our team finished 4th with an NCS tims of 1:41.99.  The boys team, however, dropped 5.6 seconds, finishing in 5th place (after qualifying in 11th place on Thursday)!  Alex Butler had a 22.58 split, Will Dreyer went 22.79, Parker Etnyre went 22.84 and Cale Hanson swam an astonishing 21.44 anchor leg to finish with a 1:29.62 – an NCS Automatic time!  See you on Friday at NCS, boys!!!!

In the 100 Back, Sadie Suppiger finished 2nd with an NCS time of 57.31! Taryn Veronda was 5th, and Brooklyn Plomp finished 6th, while Kendall Lee finished 18th. Mason Schlehr finished 12th in the boys race with an NCS Consideration time of 56.99 – his second CONS time of the meet!  In the 100 Breast, Anna Motes finished 7th and Audrey Martin finished 9th with a season best 1:08.46. Will Dreyer swam a season best of 1:03.03 in his 17th place finish, while Jayden Hwang finished 21st.  

Ending the exciting morning, the Girls 400 Free Relay team finished 6th with an NCS time of 3:43.65. The boys team finished 7th, dropping 7.54 seconds to get their first NCS time of 3:16.67!  

We will be sending five relay teams to NCS Prelims next Friday, May 3rd. The girls are sending a 200 Medley Relay, a 200 Free Relay and a 400 Free Relay.  The boys are sending a 200 Free Relay and an 400 Free Relay!
