AHS Swim Hosts Concord, Mt. Diablo and Berean Christian, Thursday 3/28

Winter returned to AHS on Thursday as the Dons took on three other teams at Heaston Aquatic Center! Though it was quite a cold day, there were still some hot hot races in the pool!  

All of the AHS Medley Relay teams finished 1st and 2nd in all four races – JV Girls and Boys and Varsity Girls and Boys! Both Varsity girls teams went CONS, and the boys A team did as well. In the 200 Free races, Olivia Whipple and Sophia Schwartz finished 2nd and 3rd, while Andrew Tanimura and Braden Dunton took the top two spots. 

Mila Ellis continued her domination of the 100 IM, winning for the girls while Liam Parks took 1st in the boys race.  Ella Del Rosario and Toby Brock-Utne won the varsity races.  

In the 50 free, Caroline Tumilty once again led the JV girls with a 1st place finish, while the Dons girls finished in the top 13 spots! Thomas Kurimai finished 1st for the JV boys, with the Dons taking the top 9 spots. In the Varsity races, Sadie Suppiger won in a CONS time of 25.53, while Anna Motes was 3rd in 26.49. Parker Etnyre was first for the boys with a CONS time of 22.50, while Alex Butler was 2nd in 22.89. 

Mila Ellis and Will Miller won the 50 Fly races for the JV teams, while Taryn Veronda earned her third CONS time of 1:02.82, while winning the 100 Fly for the varsity girls. Anthony Yamamoto won the boys race with a 1.03.27. Ava Bell and Ethan Zolboo won the 100 Free JV races, while Ella Del Rosario and Alex Butler won the varsity races.  Alex swam a 50.88, which is only 0.89 sec off a CONS time!  He is quite close to CONS times in both 100 free and 50 free.  Taryn Veronda and Cale Hanson won the 500 Free Varsity races. 

The Dons dominated the 200 Free Relays with both JV teams taking 1st and all four Varsity teams taking 1st and 2nd.  Both Varsity girls teams swam CONS times while the Boys A team swam CONS. 

In the 100 Back, Dane Schurhoff swam a 1:15.85 for a 1st place finish for the JV Boys while Sadie Suppiger swam a CONS time of 1:00.94 in her varsity girls victory. In the 100 Breast, Hanna Wisniewska popped her time by 9.51 seconds to finish 1st for the JV girls, while Saul Rao took the victory for the JV boys. Anna Motes won the Varsity girls race in another CONS time of 1:10.84, while Parker Etnyre won for the varsity boys with a 1.06.84.  

Next meet is at home on Thursday, 4/11 against Clayton Valley.  GO DONS!!!
