On January 10th the Acalanes wrestling team had their first league dual of the season against Concord and Campo.  The young Dons were able to fill 12 of the 14 weight classes with 8 of those being filled by 1st year wrestlers. Unfortunately the Dons came up short in both duals losing 64-18 to Concord and 54-30 to Campo.  This season is going to be a learning experience but the future is bright.  Highlights

Senior Dylan Potter had 2 pins, Senior Dakota Goyert had a pin vs Campo, Sophomore Marley Oh had a pin vs Campo, and Sophomore Evan Travis had a pin vs Campo.

On Saturday January 13th all three of the Acalanes wrestling teams were in action today at different tournaments around the Bay Area.  The Boys Varsity team went 23rd Mat Classic at Granada High in Livermore.  Unfortunately the Dons came home empty handed but got some valuable mat time heading into the last few weeks of regular season.  The Girls Varsity team was in San Lorenzo at the 3rd Annual Lady Grizzly Classic, where they were met with tough competition and learned some valuable lessons on the mat.  The JV boys team was at the 3rd Annual Red Devil Classic at Mt. Diablo High in Concord. The JV Dons brought home a few metals.  Sophomore Edreece Warres took 2nd, Freshman Morgan Nazemi also took 2nd, Freshman Ryan Crane took 3rd, and first year Senior Kian Marette took 4th.
