Frosh/Soph Girls Soccer Battled the Elements, Las Lomas and Campo in Two Weekend Games

Frosh/Soph Girls Soccer played two tough games in the rain over the weekend:

The first was against a Las Lomas team that was firing on all cylinders.  Svea Staino got things started off by knocking in the first goal shortly after the start of the game.  Las Lomas had a number of shots on the goal that kept our goalie busy and finally got one in tying it 1-1 at the half. Despite the hard work of the entire team and a second goal scored by Caroline Tumilty the Dons fell to Las Lomas 5-2.

The second game vs Campolindo was also in soggy raining conditions. The Dons started off strong with Natalie Hamill scoring the first points of the game off a well placed foul shot.  This was followed by a beautiful shot to the left top of the Campolindo goal by Caroline Tumilty.  Campolindo scored on a PK to make it 2-1 Dons at the half.  Mila Ellis returned to the game after her recent injury and had a number of great runs and shots on goal but they were blocked by the hard working Campolindo goalie.  Campolindo scored two more goals shortly after the beginning of the half to put the Dons on the back foot.  The Dons controlled the ball and put the pressure on Campo until the very end but ultimately fell 3-2.
