ACAstadium: New Look for the Home of the Dons

In late summer 2023, we will have a new ACA stadium with turf & track.  It will be the start of a new Dons football season, followed by soccer, lacrosse and track.  Between, those games special life events will take place, pep rallies, senior sunrise, homecoming, and ending the year with graduation.  Since 1940 the Don’s have showed up.  Some have gone the distance, Norm Van Brocklin NFL quarterback played on that field, Brady Aielo NFL lineman, Espen Baarden professional goalie they showed up.

As with any school the stadium is often the heartbeat of the school.  Don’s field is no exception.  When our Don’s take the field there is a sense of pride, win or lose we know they gave it their all.  Their blood, sweat and sometimes tears are on that field.  The coaches and players strive to be their best, to contribute, to be a part of something bigger than oneself.   Doesn’t matter what sport, what position, starter or not, every single person who’s ever stepped on that field and represented the Don’s has contributed.  They showed up, under the lights or the scorching sun/rain, they show up.

We do as well, the greater Don’s family, the fans, the parents, the friends, the little sisters, and brothers.  We pack the bleachers, work our way up to our regular spot, greet and laugh and get ready for the excitement about to take place on that field.  Some watch intently, some scream and cheer and do what we can to energize our teams and will them to victory.

Over 900 football games, 1500 girls and boys soccer games, 500 girls and boys  lacrosse games, many track events, and 83 graduations have been hosted in our ACA stadium.   There have been countless joys, moments and life lessons taught, learned and earned on that field.  This is not just about sport, it’s not just about recreation, it helps build a foundation for life.   Generations of players have come and gone, each having their moments in the light.  That magic that takes place is a huge part of the high school experience.   We want to provide the next generation of Don’s with the same opportunities.  With that we need your help, we need you to show up one more time.

Town Spirit: Since 1940 we love Lafayette and the Dons!

The Acalanes Sports Field is in the midst of a resurfacing project and the school’s student body needs our help. While the district has the funds for the base project, an additional $34,000 is needed to produce the Acalanes font and school colors to make this field truly feel like home.

Help the school create a true home field advantage for years to come by donating to this project. All donations are tax-deductible, and all dollars raised through this effort (outside of Gofundme fees) will go directly towards the field turf project.

This project ensures that anyone associated with Acalanes – in the past, currently, or the future will have a field the community will be proud of. We hope you’ll donate what you can and help Acalanes athletes and students create a home field we can all be proud of.

At the end of the day, this field is home. Home of the Dons.  Providing a place to play, learn, grow, anticipate, cheer, yell, stomp and congregate with friends and family while enjoying a great event, game after game, year after year.
