Acalanes Varsity Boys Tennis Team Wins 10th in a Row – Advances to Quarters in NCS Team Championships

The top 16 teams in the North Coast Section (NCS) are now competing for a spot in the Nor Cal Championships next week.  After going 9-1 in the regular season, Acalanes is seeded #5 in the championships and played #12 Vintage-Napa on Tuesday.  The result was a 7-0 sweep as the format for the tournament is 4/3 – meaning 4 singles and 3 doubles. The team continues to look very sharp; however, we face a very tough opponent in the quarters.  #4 seed Washington High also advanced so the Dons will travel to Fremont on Thursday (May 11) for a 5PM match at the Fremont Tennis Center.

All top eight seeds advanced into the quarterfinals.  #4 Washington and #7 Foothill won 5-2.  The other six teams swept 7-0.  That includes #1 Mission San Jose, #2 California (San Ramon), #3 Amador Valley, #6 Miramonte, and #8 Redwood.  You can track the tournament by visiting the link directly below.
