Varsity Baseball Drops Tight Game to College Park 1-0

Team pregame huddle

Varsity baseball took on the College Park Falcons on Tuesday in their first game after Spring Break. It
perfect day for a ballgame in Pleasant Hill as Junior Henry Souza took the hill for the Dons. The Acalanes
squad knocked out 11 hits in a solid offensive attack that just could not produce a run. Despite every
starter getting at least one hit, the Dons still lost 1-0.

Keegan Goddard on second base

Breaks have been a little hard to come by over the last few games, but that’s baseball. Fortunately the
boys get another crack at this tough, Division 1, College Park team on Thursday at home.

Everett Glass

Keegan Goddard and Mason Michlitsch led the team with two hits each. Andrew Habas, Gavin Bender, brothers Benji and Nico O’Rourke, Sammy Lee, Everett Glass and James Stadt all had a hit. The Dons had at least one runner on base in every inning of the game, including loading the bases in the bottom of the 6th , but it wasn’t meant to be.

Infield huddle

Henry Souza pitched 5 innings of shutout ball, giving up only one hit, 4 walks and recording 2 strikeouts.
He was relieved by Peter Thorn, who gave up a couple of hits and a run. It was a tough luck loss for the
boys in blue. Rematch at home on Thursday 4pm.

The weeks ahead feature league matchups with Benicia, Clayton Valley, Campo and Northgate. The
Dons need your support. Come out and see the boys perform soon. Good things are about to happen.
Go Dons!
