Girls Varsity Lacrosse Steamrolls Over Clayton Valley Charter 14-2

It would have been expected to see some rust from the Dons after Spring Break, but the rust was hard to find on Tuesday night against the Ugly Eagles. Throughout the game, the Dons displayed a spread out scoring attack, a tenacious redefend and rock solid defense.

Scoring three goals each for the Dons were star middies Haley Rurka, Maya Wang and Grace Imrie. Tea Smith, Ella Thomason, Megan Churchill, Lucy Gellman and Ava McGlothlin each scored one as well. Tallying assists for the Dons were Churchill, Imrie, Rurka and Thomason. Imrie rounded out her excellent game by controlling 6 of the draws. Helping out with draw controls were Smith, Thomason, Wang and Jenna Steele. The middie trio of Rurka, Wang and Imrie were all over the loose balls, with Leyna Machtmes controlling one as well.

The Dons turn around and play again Wednesday, this time at Dougherty Valley High School at 7pm. Let’s go Dons!
