Tuesday 1/24, the Dons traveled to Northgate to face the Broncos on their home turf. Though closely matched, fair to say that the Dons dominated possession from the get go. Lots of fancy footwork & ball movement downfield by midfielders Lily Polkinhorn and Elodie Jensen, shots on goal by Elodie, Addie McShane, Zoya Acuna, Sisi Houston, & Livi Foster, and solid defense by Edie Berzanzky and goalie Sophie Gold. At the half, we were tied at a zero sum game. 

The second half started off with an unexpected free kick by the Broncos that landed Northgate its first goal. The Dons’ offense responded with many great crosses and goal attempts by Zoya, Sisi, Livi, & Dani Green, and a nice through-ball by Addie to Lily for yet another shot on goal. Midfield play was tenacious, keeping the Dons in control of the game, thanks to Lidia Stahl, Mollie Schofield, & Elodie. More great defense by Edie & Sof Cerruti, and keepers Sophie Gold & Sara Tarnai. Midway though the second half, after fullback Katelyn Weiss kicked a lofty attempt on goal, Sisi sent a clean pass to guest Frosh player Kate Uffelman who handily scored the first Dons’ goal of the night! In the end the Dons tied the Broncos 1:1.
