Despite a grueling finals week, the Dons managed to bring their A game to the pitch against Northgate on Thursday evening.

From the start it was clear we were in for a close match against the Broncos. That said, our offense attempted goals early & often in the first half—great shots on goal by Zoya Acuña, 

Sisi Houston, & Haadeh Sanchez. Solid defense by Edie Berzansky, Katelyn Weiss, and Sophia Cerruti kept Northgate off the scoreboard. 

Going into the second half tied at zero goals, the Dons continued to dominate possession and made a renewed effort on offense. Livi Foster had a nice shot on goal, followed by a cross to Zoya. The Broncos responded with a close shot on goal fortunately saved by our reliable keeper, Sara Tarnai. Dani Green delivered a perfect cross received by Sisi Houston to score the Dons’ one critical goal of the night. The close battle continued with great ball handling by Mollie Schofield, Lily Polkinhorn, Reiney Fish, and another shot on goal by Dani Green. In the end, Acalanes defeated Northgate 1 – 0.
