Boys Varsity Tennis Team Defeats College Park 7-2

The Boys’ Varsity tennis team played College Park for the second time this season and the results were the same as the first.  The Dons won 7-2 losing only the #1 and #2 singles spots.  Both were good matches and our boys played well, however, came up just a little short.  Luke Brightbill, who has been sidelined with illness, returned to match competition and played extremely well.  Though he lost in a tight two-setter, his serve was booming, and his groundstrokes were crisp.  We are glad to have him, Zach Snyder, and Will Lofting back.  We are still missing our #1 player, Tyler Toni, whose target return date is now mid to later April.

The boys’ games are continuing to improve, and the scores reflected that.  All seven wins were in straight sets and most of the sets were very decisive.  We picked up a new varsity player, Ben Reinsberg, and this was his first league match.  He played with Liam McGlynn in the #2 doubles line, and they cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory.  Welcome to the team, Ben!

With this win, Acalanes improves to 4-3 in league play. The boys have no matches for the next two weeks, so the tennis updates will resume on April 19 when we play Las Lomas away.
