Acalanes JV Lady Lacrosse Wins Again to End the Season

On Friday night the JV Lady Lacrosse team beat Miramonte 17 to 7 in its final official game of the season. The Lady Dons ended the season on a 14-0-1 run. Unbeaten in their last 15 games!   All 37 players in attendance saw significant action in this game. The Dons started out behind 4 to 2 but after a timeout they went on a 9 to 0 run to end the first half. They began the second half by outscoring the Mats 6 to 1 and at 17 to 5 with ten minutes to go the game was over and the Lady Dons cruised to victory!

Led by Ella Thomason, Leyna Machtmes And Jenna Steele with four goals each and Maggie Palmer with 3 assists and 1 goal and two assists from Maia Upp!

. Other amazing goals were scored by Maddy Beeman, Jasmine Frost, Emme Cain and Campbell Evans each scoring a goal. The defensive play of Kelly Toddhunter, Elsa Braunstein, Jacqueline Kuhner, Mattie Rumberg, Audrey Peatros, Claire Zimmerman and of course Junior Georgia  Howells stifled Miramonte after the first couple of minutes of the game.

Juniors, Ava McGlothlin, McKenzie Campbell, Liv Rao, Rebecca Johnson, Nora Macarawich, Nastia Grits and Kendal Geddes playing in their last JV game, were incredible.

Goalie Mia Rodgers had several saves once again!

Also significantly contributing to the win were Katherine Leamey, Taylor Miklas, Lucy Thomas, Channler Ottobre, Mika Bokobo, Chloe Bergman, Annie Baker, Emma Seelenbacher, Ruthie Protass, Gianna Bordi, Lucca Dibiasse and Nina Von Shaffer.

Players unable to be here for a variety of reasons Friday from bereavement to injury,  helped this incredible team throughout the year. They included Ella Easley, Taylor Daggs, Charlotte McKenzie,  Laila Vivek, Reiney Fish, Hannah Burkes, Sadie Logan, Georgia Wilson,  Molly Schofield and Eva McGrath

This season and it’s victories and tragedy truly brought this wonderful group of young women  together as a family. Yes there were from different friend groups and  freshman, sophomores and juniors on this team but when together both on the field and off they were one group,  sensitive, strong for each other and simply amazing!

Can’t wait until next year……Go Dons!
