WELL PLAYED! FROSH BOYS TAKE ON NAPA AND CRUSH IT 59-35

The Freshman Boys enjoyed a victory Tuesday against the Vintage High Crushers with a score of 59-35.

But when the game started and throughout the first quarter, it didn’t look like the Dons would “crush” it, as it took some time for them to find their rhythm. The Dons remained competitive though – with Braedon Christie and Drew McKenzie dominating the first quarter points. Even so, the Dons trailed 15-12 at the end of the first quarter.

The Dons turned around – and quickly – in the second quarter – with a whopping 17 points scored during an action-packed quarter. Braedon Christie scored another 6 points, and baskets by Avyn Morales, Miles Blackheart and Nico Ortman helped the Don’s pull even farther ahead. We won’t forget to mention Dylan Rocca’s three pointer – swish.

In the third quarter Braedon Christie just kept banging away at his scoring streak – ultimately netting a total of 18 game points. In similar fashion, Avyn Morales also made excellent use of his ball time in the third quarter- scoring 10 points contributing 14 to the game in total. By the end of the third quarter the Dons led 45-30.

By the fourth quarter, it was time for other Dons to shine. Justin Tan seemed to show up out of nowhere and quietly nail two 3-pointers, while Jake Hawkins also showed up and scored two more baskets in quick succession.

Strong defense, coordinated plays and a seemingly more vocal, cheering team – plus more baskets by Brody Darin and Zac Herrerias made the win even sweeter. Nothing is better than a well-played win that was made possible with so many contributions (baskets and beyond) across the entire team.  Well played Dons!
