Acalanes Girls Soccer started their season Tuesday night with dominant performances for both Varsity against the Mt. Diablo Red Devils and JV versus El Cerrito. The varsity squad took care of business early, scoring 10 goals in the first half, and throttled back in the second half, only adding one more to their tally despite maintaining possession for over 95% of the game. The Dons’ defense shut out and shut down the Red Devils completely with a final score of 11-0. Goals were scored by seniors Ella Johnston and Lauren Yee, juniors Addie Bailey and Camryn Salazar, sophomores Grace Imrie and Maya Dunne and freshmen Taylor Mikalis and Alex Salazar. The JV crew also posted their first win of the season outscoring El Cerrito 8-0. The Dons are looking forward to hosting their first home game of the season Friday, December 17th vs Miramonte, Varsity at 6:00pm and JV at 4:00pm.
