The Dons honored seniors Emma Johnson, Aly Kirke, Gianna Manzone, Kira Wood, Bela Yanakieva and Rachel Zhang on Thursday, October 14, when they hosted Alhambra. The Dons got off to a shaky star and lost the first game but rallied and swept the next three games, 25-15, 25-20 and 25-12. Last week, The Freshman Girls Volleyball team maintained their undefeated status in the league, beating Northgate and Alhambra at home on Tuesday and Thursday, each 2-0. The Lady Dons capped a wonderful season with a fantastic showing at the League Championship on Friday, securing a 3rd place finish and positioning themselves well for an at-large birth to the North Coast Section playoffs. Incredibly, the Don’s finished with three players shooting in the 80’s…Makena Chelemedos 83, Haley Chelemedos 85 and Kendal Geddes 89. After the championship, Makena…
Dons win 5-4 vs. the Las Lomas Knights. It doesn’t get any closer. In Singles, Kit Scheirer (#3 singles) UNLEASHED and pulled off another slick win, AGAIN, in the 3rd set tiebreaker. If I had dime for every time they won in the third, I’d probably have a dollar. For their performance on the day, Kit earned the DONS PLAYER OF THE MATCH on the singles side!…
