JV Baseball: Falcons Could Not Fly against the Dons

The Dons led the game against the College Park Falcons for the win, 8 to 5. There were many key plays in this game like a bare handed double play by Kyle Bielawski toTyler WorthingtonNikko Woodson with 3 RBIs, lots of hits, six stolen bases, big catches in the outfield and dugout chatter that including a shout out to JK Rowlings. It was a good day to be a Don.

Woodson hits it down the line

But the the Dons seventh inning had the most fireworks. Paul Kuhner started the inning with a deep double to Falcon’s left field, followed by a perfect bunt by Colin Norstad, giving him a ticket to first base. Next up was Ellis Burger and the Falcons intentionally walked him. This turned all the bases blue and put Nikko Woodson at the plate (insert and ‘uh-oh’ here). Woodson rips in down the third place line deep into left field for a double. Mason Michlitsch  gave no break to the Falcon left-fielder with another double, locking in the 8 runs for the Dons.

Henry Souza got the start for the Dons. The southpaw went four innings, allowing two runs on five hit, and striking out two. Others making appearances on the mound where Nikko Woodson and Ellis Burger.  With four games in one week, pitching relief  is key this week.
