On opposite sides of the country the track and field team represented Acalanes well over the weekend with exciting runs, jumps and throws from coast-to-coast.
At the Marsh Creek Invitational top finishers included:
Boys–
1st place 4×100 varsity relay (Littlejohn, Roger, Glick, Kuhner) with a season best 42.89
1st place 4×100 frosh soph relay (Rivera, Krick, Kaplans Jones, Schwarz) also with a season best 45.24
1st place 100 meters Paul Kuhner in 10.85, 2nd place Trevor Rogers in a PR 11.04, moving one spot up the ACA track record board
1st place long jump for Illias Kaplanes Jones with a PR of 21’10.5″, placing sophomore Illias 3rd in NCS, and entering the ACA record board in spot #8 all-time with one of the best sophomore jumps in the state this year
2nd place high jump for Liam Gallacher with a PR of 5′ 10″, t-8th NCS
2nd place triple jump for Ace Reeder with a PR of 39’3″ (and third place for Grant Ricker at 37’9″)
5th place for Colin Glick in the 100 (PR 11.53) and 200 (23.60)
Girls–
1st place 4 x 100 varsity relay (Lyons, Chelemedos, Tarsa, Munter) with a season best 51.61
1st place Long Jump for Natalie Lyons with a huge leap of 18’2″, a PR, 5th best in ACA history and 1st in NCS
2nd place for Haley Chelemedos in the 100m in a PR/never-run-the-event before 13.26 (3rd place for Genevieve Tarsa in a PR 13.43)
5th place for Chloe Boyle in the discuss with a PR 77’6″
New Balance Indoor Championships (Boston, Mass)–
In the Weight Championship (that’s throwing a 25 pound weight at the end of a chain) Miles Clark finished strong with a toss of 58’5.25″ and Olivia Williams finished strong in the girls indoor 2 mile with a fast 11:04 in the 100 degree indoor arena.
