Acalanes Wrestling was at Mt. Diablo High School Saturday for the DAL Championship fighting for spot at NCS on the Varsity Boys side. All three teams were wrestling on Saturday with the Dons bringing 19 wrestlers in total. One the Varsity Boys side we had three get through to NCS next Friday and Saturday at James Logan High School. Junior Ian Sanftner took 3rd place, Senior Captain Dylan Potter took 4th and Sophomore Adam Caicedo taking 4th as well.

On the Girls side Senior Captain Dakota Goyert took 2nd and will be competing at Albany High School for Girls NCS. The JV Boys wrapped up their season on Saturday with Sophomore Amin Noroozi becoming JV League Champion at 217 pound weight class and Heavyweight Senior Kian Marette taking 4th in his last match. While the results can always be better the growth of a young team with a new purpose was clear on Saturday. 14 of the 19 wrestling on Saturday are underclassmen and 13 of them 1st year wrestlers.

The future of Acalanes Wrestling is bright.
