Are you ready for some Varsity Girls’“Football”?

With an 8-0 win over the Bethel Jaguars of Vallejo on Wednesday, the Dons begin conference play at College Park on Tuesday at 7pm

The soccer culture is strong at AHS. Following a 2022 DAL Valley Division title and a heartbreaking loss at the NCS Championship game, Coach Nick Barbarino takes the helm for his 5th season with the Dons. With 11 seniors anchoring the squad, the team runs deep with versatile players representing many of the top club teams in the area.

Captains of the team are offensive stars, Addie Bailey and Tatum Zuber, two-way wonder, Jacque Peacock, and defensive guru, Chloe Quintella.

Moving up from last season’s dominating JV squad:  Gianna Itagliata, Lucca DeBiasse, Leila Hamidi, Alexa Malinovsky, Kendal Geddes, and JV team MVP, Megan Yee.

New to Dons soccer are senior Emma Hunt and the fabulous freshmen pair: Tori Hiatt and Tatum Keely.

The Dons will feature a balanced scoring attack with Nicole Nguyen, Emmi Cronin, Ella Thomason, and Taylor Mikalis on the pitch.

The Salazar sisters (Alex and Camryn) will share the midfield where soccer influencer Cam Salazar will carry the load at the holding mid position.

Defense wins championships and the backline of Demi Woods, Avery Ives, and an enthusiastic Taylor Carlin aim to form an unbreakable wall.  Our fearless goalkeepers, Melisa Adatepe and Catherine Judson will share the goalkeeping duties.

The team is stacked, the players are hungry, the parents are excited, the fields are freezing, and the coaches are mentoring. Stop by and cheer on the Acalanes Girls Varsity Soccer Team and watch the team put up a clinic on selfless teamplay.

You can watch the Dons in action this week on the road Tuesday at College Park at 7pm and at home on Thursday vs Northgate at 7pm.
