Looking to make amends for the 1-1 draw earlier in the season in Moraga the Dons came out firing. By the 45th minute the girls had put 6 goals in the back of the net.
The scoring started with two early goals by Sophi MacKay. The first a good follow up from a rebounded Lauren Yee shot and the second a power shot to the upper corner off a cross from none other than Lauren Yee.
Lue Van Handel showed great individual effort as she danced past defenders into space at the top of the box where she rocketed a shot to the far corner. The first half finished with a strong long-range shot at nearly 30 yards by Maya Stelzer over the keeper’s hands. Early in the second half, Emmi Cronin made a great shot on goal from the right flank which rebounded to a driving Ella Alpert at the top of the box who left no doubt with her finish.
Ella then sent a beautiful through ball to Sophi MacKay flying up the wing, her shot rebounded off the post to a waiting Emmi Cronin who finished to add to her team-leading goal tally. The defense led by Mia Sides finished the game off for a 6-1 victory.
The Dons take their show on the road to Benicia Wednesday at 5 pm.
