On a sunny Tuesday with the Varsity Baseball team providing the background soundtrack, the JV Boys Tennis Team played a match against Emerald High School from Dublin at our home courts at Acalanes. The team showed great focus and determination across the 11 lines we played—4 Singles and 7 Doubles—and came away with an impressive victory.
In Line 1 Singles, Reed Lusch put together a convincing win at 8–2 with consistent groundstrokes peppered with aces. In Line 2 Singles, Jack Roberts continued his solid play with an 8–4 win. Ilai Elbaz in Line 3 delivered another thorough performance, winning 8–2. In Line 4 Singles, Hirsch Peters battled hard in a very close match that could have gone either way and went to a tiebreaker, but ultimately fell just short, 8–9 (2–7).
In Line 1 Doubles, Hugo De Torres and Brandon Fu played a strong opponent and did enough to earn an 8–6 victory. Bryson Trimble and Connor McAndrew in Line 2 were in control throughout and won convincingly 8–2. In Line 3, Cade Yen and Owen Lee continued their strong partnership with a solid 8–5 win. In Line 4 Doubles, Cade Krick and Charlie Mcilwain handled their match confidently and walked off the court at 8–4 .
In Line 5 Doubles, Teddy and Will Mrachek played well together and came away with an 8–4 victory. At Line 6, Parker Hulst and Colin Wilson delivered one of the most decisive wins of the day with an 8–1 score. Finally, Conrad Smith and Tyler Anderson in Line 7 rounded out the day with an equally strong performance, at 8–1.
The JV Dons showed excellent composure and teamwork throughout the afternoon, resulting in a very strong team performance across both singles and doubles.
