Under absolutely perfect running conditions: cool temperatures, sunshine, and a mild, refreshing breeze, the stage was set e for an unforgettable day of competition.
ACA Varsity Boys powered through grass, dirt, flats, and brutal hills to earn an incredible 16th place finish among 209 runners in the Division 4 race. Leading the charge was Harry Zimmerman, who surged through the massive field to a spectacular 20th place finish. Not far behind came Dane Darby, followed by David Ellerbrock, Alexander Hagen, Theo Benmezaine, Dashiell Tinianow, and Jason Rossetter, each battling the course and the competition with grit and determination.
On the Girls’ side, Neve Murphy took the field by storm, charging across the same demanding terrain, known as the legendary “camel humps,” steep, short, and relentless inclines, to an outstanding 22nd place finish over 183 runners.
A huge thank you to the families who traveled to Central California to cheer on our runners. We hope you were able to soak in the spectacular setting! Named after the late Ralph Woodward, who donated the land to create a regional park and bird sanctuary, the course offered a truly immersive natural experience for all runners and spectators. Between the roar of cheers, birds chirping overhead, and the steady rush of water along the winding stream near mile one, the atmosphere was nothing short of joyful and unforgettable.
So proud of our Dons for taking on the state’s best and rising to the moment on a truly epic course! And to our coaches who made sure that our athletes were ready for the challenge, Thank yoU!
