The “Everyone Watches Women’s Sports” movement is part of a powerful global shift that celebrates, supports, and uplifts female athletes. What started as a simple slogan has grown into a meaningful message, one that pushes back against the outdated idea that women’s sports aren’t as exciting or worthy of attention as men’s.
A Movement with Momentum

For decades, women’s sports have been underfunded, underpromoted, and underwatched, not because of a lack of talent, but due to a lack of exposure and support. However, in recent years, the landscape has begun to shift.
Here’s what helped drive the movement forward:
-
Record-breaking viewership: Events like the FIFA Women’s World Cup, WNBA games, and the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament have drawn massive audiences, proving that people do watch women’s sports when they’re given the chance.
-
Athlete leadership: Players like Serena Williams, Megan Rapinoe, and Caitlin Clark have used their platforms to speak out on equity and visibility.
-
Stronger media coverage: More networks, brands, and streaming platforms are investing in women’s sports and promoting them as premier entertainment.
-
A clear, confident message: “Everyone Watches Women’s Sports” isn’t just a slogan; it is a movement!

Acalanes: All Means All
Acalanes is proud to be one of the first high schools in the nation to join the groundbreaking ‘Everyone Team’. Here at Acalanes, forward-thinking isn’t just a mindset; it’s part of our DNA. Through the visionary efforts of the Female Athlete Board, Coach, Teacher, and FAB Advisor Lexy Tamony, and the unwavering support of the Acalanes Sports Boosters, we’re rallying behind all 400+ of our incredible female athletes across every sport. Together, we’re not just keeping up, we’re setting the pace.

Empowering Girls, Supporting All
Whether it’s on the field, the court, the track, or in the pool, Acalanes’ female athletes are making waves with their talent, dedication, and achievements, and we’re proud to stand behind them every step of the way. Supporting girls’ sports means recognizing their hard work and breaking down barriers, but true Don pride is about lifting all our teams. A strong athletic community is built when we show up for every player, every game, and every season—boys and girls alike. So let’s pack the stands, wear our blue loud and proud, and celebrate the passion, sportsmanship, and spirit of every Acalanes athlete. This movement is about equity, inclusion, and community, not competition between genders. While we proudly uplift our girls’ teams, we believe in supporting every athlete at Acalanes.
