In a strong road showing at San Ramon Valley High School, the JV Dons came ready to compete and walked away with an impressive 11-2 win. Acalanes controlled the match from the first serve, sweeping the singles lines and taking five of seven doubles matches. The Dons showed depth, composure, and steady point construction across the lineup.
In singles, Ela Gozoren set the tone at Line 1 with a commanding 8-0 win, using consistent groundstrokes and smart placement to keep her opponent on defense. At Line 2, Kennedy Wilson matched that energy with another clean 8-0 victory, showing excellent focus and control from the baseline. Katie Langer was sharp at Line 3, mixing pace and placement on her way to an 8-1 win. In Line 4 singles, Sara Tsang stayed steady and composed, earning an 8-0 victory with reliable serves and confident rally play. Lulu Lanceur added another point for the Dons at Line 5, battling with patience and consistency to win 8-2. At Line 6, Hanna Rahmatian fought hard in a competitive set, but San Ramon Valley came out ahead 8-5.
The doubles teams brought the same intensity and teamwork. At Line 1, Avery and Brooke played a polished match, communicating well at the net and using strong doubles positioning to earn an 8-3 win. Riya and Quinn were steady and confident at Line 2, using consistent returns and solid volleying to claim an 8-2 victory. At Line 3, Rory and Elle worked well together, covering the court with confidence and finishing points at the net in an 8-2 win.
Line 4 featured one of the tougher battles of the day, as Ella and Perrin faced a strong San Ramon Valley pairing and came away with an 8-4 win. Due to San Ramon Valley recycling players, Aly and Olivia had an especially difficult assignment at Line 6 doubles, facing opponents who had played Line 2 and Line 3 singles. They battled hard, stayed composed through long rallies, and showed strong court coverage, but SRV took the set 8-2.
The final matches of the day brought more excitement for the Dons. Morgan and HaLong faced one of San Ramon Valley’s top recycled players in their doubles match and were pushed all the way to a tiebreak. They stayed calm under pressure, trusted their shots, and delivered in the biggest moments to secure an 8-7 (7-3) win. Sage and Kennedy also finished strong with an 8-3 victory, showing great teamwork, consistent serving, and confident net play.
It was a complete team effort from Acalanes, with players showing grit, smart shot selection, and strong doubles chemistry throughout the afternoon. From dominant singles performances to clutch doubles wins, the JV Dons proved they could stay focused, adjust to tough matchups, and compete with confidence on the road.
