Lucky 13, Strength, and Resilience Keep ACA Wrestlers in the Game at NCS

Friday the 13th may have left the hallways quiet and classrooms empty, but all across town there was a different kind of buzz building. Thirteen ACA wrestlers laced up their shoes, tightened their headgear, sharpened their focus, and headed north to compete in the first-ever NCS Division 2 East Bay Regional Tournament at Benicia High School.

With grit, determination, and nonstop energy on the mat, 11 of the 13 wrestlers battled their way back to competition on Saturday, fighting for one of the five highly coveted spots that would clear the way for next week’s NCS Masters Tournament at James Logan High School.

The mats took a beating as ACA showcased high-level technique and strength. Five wrestlers powered through the bracket and earned medals with standout performances, three Dons sealed their ticket to next week’s NCS Masters tournament:

Lilah Kring dominated her bracket with explosive takedowns and relentless pressure, battling her way to an impressive runner-up finish and securing her spot at Masters in commanding fashion.

Gwyneth Lee wrestled with poise and precision, stringing together key wins and refusing to back down. Her toughness and mat awareness earned her a well-deserved third-place finish and a rightful place at masters.

Kirian Gracie showed resilience all weekend long.  His strength in the clinch and clutch performances powered him to third place on the podium and a Masters berth.

Just on the fringe and a possible ride to masters:

Ryan Crane battled through a tough bracket and left everything on the mat, showcasing resilience in every match bringing him a 7th place finish.

Gabe Van Houten fought hard through challenging competition, demonstrating determination, and true Don spirit landing an 8th place finish.

We had some really energetic wrestling both days by everyone and while some wrestlers saw their seasons end we had some great results.

Good Luck at Masters!  GO DONS!
