Ready to Hit the Mat

Up early on a cold, foggy Saturday morning (December 13th), while most of us slept, our wrestlers were already lacing up their shoes and getting ready to battle on the mat.

The Varsity boys hit the road for the Bay Area Invitational in Castro Valley and put on a showing full of grit, strength, and sharp mat awareness in every bout. From explosive moves to tough competitors, our wrestlers proved they’re ready to grind through any bracket.

Meanwhile, the Varsity girls brought the heat at the Roger Briones Invitational, led by Lilah Kring, who earned an impressive 7th-place finish.   Not to be outdone, our JV girls stepped up in a big way, with an impressive showing by Isabel Oh, who battled her way to a 4th-place finish.

Over at the Foothill Invitational, our JV and Frosh/Soph squads gave us a glimpse of ACA’s wrestling future; it’s looking bright. Showing great for the JV boys, Nova Hedlund powered through the bracket to take 2nd place (JV), and Duncan Kinsey kept stacking points and finished 4th place (JV).

Frosh/Soph boys left everything on the mat, with great outcomes for Aidan Burley, who took 3rd place, Noah Anderson right behind with a 4th place finish, and Leo Chen, along with Austin Stevenson, wrapping up points in a 5th place finish in their respective weight classes.

We are proud of the grit, growth, and fight shown across all levels this weekend. Keep grinding, ACA Wrestling!
