With finals wrapped up and winter break calling, many students were ready to rest their heads.
Not so fast, said our wrestlers! Before fully decking the halls, the DONs had one more job to finish
Heading off in three different directions, our wrestlers kicked off winter break the only way they know how, repping the Blue and White on the mat.
Varsity Boys hop, skipped, and shot their way over to the Bill Martell Invitational at Northgate, where our DONs squared off against tough competition. Senior Kirian Gracie showed grit and next-level mat IQ, grinding out a strong 3–2 finish. Marley Oh and Ryan Crane wrestled hard and finished 2–2, while Duncan Kinsley stepped up, took a few looks, and battled through every match with determination.
JV Boys didn’t travel far, but they brought the heat to the Ygnacio Valley JV Tournament. Austin Stevenson was in full holiday beast mode, dominating his bracket and taking 1st place in his division, talk about finishing the year on top!
Girls Wrestling painted the I-580 blue and white on their way to the Dennis Solis Memorial Tournament at Castro Valley. Lilah Kring proudly represented ACA, battling her way to the consolation final. On the JV side, Jill Pierce worked some holiday magic, pulling off slick escapes and strong finishes to earn 2nd place, while Isabel Oh followed closely with a solid 3rd place finish.
No rest for the wrestlers! Just hard work, heart, and holiday hustle.
Enjoy the break, DONs… you’ve earned it!
