It was an exciting albeit lopsided game.  The Dons took 18 shots vs College Park’s scant 3.  Nearly the entire Don squad participated in the attack with shots taken by players 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 13, 18, 20 & 23.  We tried to score from every angle and distance.  Unfortunately none of the Don’s shots found the back of the net.  College Park had greater fortune, taking advantage of a regrettable touch in our backfield and a deep strike that soared above the reach of our backup backup goalie.  College Park played with greater intensity, smarting from their recent 3:2 loss to the Dons.  A rubber match is on the calendar for January 25th.  Honorable mention to Hannah Hoover for bravely stepping into Goal and then playing like a demon after transitioning into the outfield; Shelley Khan for aggressive and athletic tackling; Penny Haslam for perception and creativity in midfield; Allie Shofield for her omnipresence on the field.  Final College Park 2, Acalanes 0.
