Last week, the Boys Varsity Water Polo team faced a double whammy with back-to-back losses against Northgate High School and Castro Valley. But hold onto your water panties —their losing streak took a dive this past Monday with a thrilling 12 to 9 victory over Alhambra!
October 16, 2024: The Northgate Broncos threw down the gauntlet against the Dons, resulting in a humbling 19 to 6 defeat. But fear not! Sophomore Will Miller was a water wizard, scoring 1 goal, dishing out 1 assist, and snagging a jaw-dropping 4 steals. Not to be outdone, fellow sophomore Isaac Topp brought the heat with 2 goals and 3 steals. Junior Thomas Parrott added to the excitement with 1 goal and 2 assists, while senior Justin Rosenblatt and junior Mason Schlehr each made their mark with 1 goal and 1 steal. Junior Nico Roig zoomed through the water for 2 crucial assists, and freshman goalie Fisher Bradford-Urban blocked 3 pesky shots. Sadly, the Dons fought valiantly but couldn’t buck the Broncos.
October 17, 2024: The Dons were back in action the very next night at home, facing off against the Castro Valley Trojans. Rosenblatt led the Dons with a dazzling 2 goals, 1 assist, and 3 steals! Miller was back at it with another 2 goals and 3 steals. Parrott matched the intensity with 1 goal, 2 assists, and 3 steals! Freshman Adrian Anderson added 2 steals to the mix, while fellow freshmen Charlie Holmes and Peter Endemann each snuck in 1 steal. Bradford-Urban continued to shine with 3 blocked shots, but alas, the Trojans sailed away with a 15 to 6 victory.
