ACALANES JV LADIES LACROSSE TEAM AKA THE “RUNNING LADY DONS” ROLL ON WITH ANOTHER MASSIVE WIN!

On a beautiful Friday evening at home and the day after International Women’s Day Acalanes Running Lady JV Dons made a major local statement by beating Northgate 19 to 0. They represented the women of the world admirably! These young lady Dons played all 37 players in a game that was not in doubt after the first five minutes. This one-sided game could have been thirty to zero if the Running Dons had not slowed it down. Once again this team got to every ground ball out there, made crisp passes and the defense made Northgate only have three shots all game long. It was an incredible shellacking of a usually decent Northgate team. The first team Dons and the second and third team Dons never stopped hustling until the final horn.

The score was 12 to 0 at halftime and 15 to 0 at the end of the third quarter. All 37 players made a significant contribution to this game.

As there is not enough space to call out everyone that had an incredible game we will just point out a few highlights: “Special K” Kate Beaver had four goals and four draw controls, Taylor “Hoover” Mikalis had a goal and an assist and of course had 6 ground balls, Grace Eppinger had 2 goals, five draw controls and two assists, Christina Hageboeck had two goal and four ground balls, one of the Captains Maya Stafford had a goal and two assists in only one half of play, Edie Berzansky had two assists and four ground balls., Ella Culbertson had two goals on two shots and an assist and a ground ball, Eloise Greeson had her first goal!, the “Rookie” Cate Mercier had another goal and a couple of ground balls, Kate Uffelman had a goal and two ground balls, Addie Mcshane had several ground balls, newbie Stella Pacheco had TWO goals!, Samantha Swift had two goals and a ground ball, and veteran Lucy Thomas had her usual good game with a goal and a couple of assists. Several other players contributed on offense including Stella Degroot, Sela Sarbiewski, Grace Hayes, Kinneri Vivik, Yali Avrahimi and Willa Wilcott who all had great games!

The defensive work was spectacular and they shut out Northgate. It was anchored by Emme Martin, Resse Westphal, Maddie “the Little General” Obertello, Molly Jones, Sadie Logan, Zoe Braunstein, Katelyn Weiss, Ruby Bogan, Persephone Quine and the Goalies Sara Hession and Addison Mandell! So fun to watch them.

The Running Lady Dons are now Six Wins and Zero Losses outscoring opponents 95 to 14. The hustle and never give up on a ball and it is is soooooo much fun to watch. Two home games this week against great opponents Monte Vista and Campolindo on Tuesday and Friday at 5:30. Come on out and support this incredible team that loves playing for the Blue and White.

GOOOOOOO DONSSSSSSS!
