Saturday the girls played in the Recognize Game Classic at Merritt College. The opponent was a highly regarded Caruthers team from the Fresno area. Thanks to intense full court pressure the Lady Dons jumped all over Caruthers early setting the tone for the game. It was 23 to 9 after 1. The lead stretched to 18 at the half and got in excess of 30 in the 2nd half. The final was Acalanes 77 Caruthers 51.
Ariana Hallstrom lead the way with 26 points on a blistering 10 from 11 from the field. Ariana was awarded MVP of the game by the tournament. Sophie Chinn added 20 points to go along with 7 rebounds. Dulci Vail scored 13 points, while KK Lacanlale had 9 points with 5 assists.
The win moves the girls to 8 and 1 on the season. Up next is a Friday night league game at home against Concord. Then the girls are off to the So Cal Holiday Prep Classic in San Diego where they have been seeded in the Premier Bracket (top bracket out of 11).
