Still Undefeated Dons Beat Rancho Cotate 46-16!

Neither homecoming nor homework could stop the freshman Dons from getting their work done on the football field this past week! The team is now 8-0 after a big win at home over Rancho Cotate.

Grant Condy (Max Preps Offensive Player of the Game) scored a touchdown of the Dons first offensive play! Jackson Boselli scored the conversion and the Dons took an early 8-0 lead against the Cougars. Boselli scored another touchdown on the very next drive and the Dons were up 14-0!

The Cougars offensive finally gained some momentum, only to be shut down when Zachary Birrell intercepted the ball on the 1 yard line.

Drew Asadorian changed his number, but he didn’t change his game! He ran the ball in for another Dons touchdown and the team took a 22-0 lead over the Cougars. Drew had 91 total yards (71 rushing and 10 receiving yards).
AJ Hastings scored the next TD and Cash Ricker followed it up with the two point conversion putting the Dons ahead 30-0! Hastings also helped execute two hook and ladder plays on the Dons next offensive possession. Before the end of the first half, Condy would score another touchdown, followed by a conversion by Asadorian putting the Dons up 38-8 at half.
Nolan Potts, Karsten Harmeyer and Tyler Winkles take a break at half time. Fearless QB Winkles was named Max Preps Overall Player of the Game. He had 221 total yards (11 rushing and 210 passing) in the first half alone.
Defensive playmakers showed up huge for the Dons. Danny Dunne had 4 solo tackles and a sack. Camden Sinha had 5 total tackles (1 solo and 4 assists) and a sack. Austin McManamom had a tackle and sack. Shoutout to all the defensive plays that let the Dons keep their huge lead over the Cougars throughout the game. Andrew Iams and Will Forschler each had and interception.

Bryce Mansour scored the only touchdown of the second half for the Dons. He rushed for 86 total yards and recovered a fumble.

Ben Mickelson was named the Max Preps Defensive Player of the Game with 7 tackles (5 solo and 2 assist)
Max Preps Special Teams Player of the Game – Luke Dafferner – had 7 tackles (3 solos and 2 assists).
