Girls Golf Finishes Season With Strong Showing at NCS

The Lady Don golfers finished the season with a strong showing at the North Coast Section Championships at Tilden Park on Monday. With only two returning varsity players, the Lady Dons managed a tie for 12th place out of 21 competing teams, a great finish in a rebuilding year leaving hope for an even stronger result next year.

The Dons bested some historically strong golf programs in the Championship, including Alameda, College Park, Dublin, Heritage, Tamalpais and soundly defeated previously unbeaten DAL champions Northgate by 11 strokes.

The Lady Dons were led by the junior trio of Haley Chelemedos, Campbell Evans and Hana Chelemedos, with Haley posting a career NCS low score of 81, placing her 12th place among the 126 competing team players (despite a couple of tough holes). The Dons also had significant contributions by new players to NCS Taylor Baker, Jordan Huskins and Miracle Gu.

Signing off for the season, Happy Golfing!
