Frosh Football Still Undefeated

The Frosh Football Team loaded the busses last Thursday and headed to the impressive Memorial Stadium in Napa to take on the Napa High Grizzlies.

The Dons’ first drive of the game ended in a 45-yard pass from Jasper Stewart (#9) to Finley Rivera (#13). Jackson Boselli (#31) carried the ball into the end zone for the 2-point conversion Dons led 8-0.

The mighty Dons’ defense shut down the Grizzly’s offense allowing the Dons to score again on their second drive with Drew Asadorian (#37) running the ball into the end zone on a 4-yard rushing play. The Dons went up 16-0.

In the second quarter, the Dons’ took some time off the clock with a 13-play, 80-yard drive resulting in a 17-yard passing touchdown from Stewart to AJ Hastings (#12). After the successful 2-point conversion, the Dons were up 24-0.

The Dons’ defense proved their worth once again by holding the Grizzlies and forcing them to punt.

As always, it was a full team effort on the field with 21 different players making a tackle and 12 different players with a carry or reception.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane…it’s Danny Dunne (#76)! Dunne was named Max Preps Defensive Player of the game with 4 solo tackles, 4 assisted tackles, 4 tackles for losses, 1 sack and 1 caused fumble.

With 2 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter, Stewart completed a 58-yard pass to Zach Birrell (#80). Jimmy Cusumano (#6) executed the 2-point conversion making it 32-0 Dons at the half which would end up being the final score of the game.

Jimmy Cusumano (#6) was named MaxPreps overall player of the game with 3 solo tackles, 6 assisted tackles and 5 tackles for losses.

Second-half quarterback Rocco Stassi (the taller #8) drops back for a pass as he’s protected by Bryce Mansour (#40), Max Trexler (#64) and Matthew Lee (#56).

Once again the Dons’ defense proved impressive as the team recorded their second shutout of the season. Final score 32-0. Way to go Dons!
