Dons JV extends winning streak to three games behind a strong running game and stout defense.

#13 Tommy Terhar ran for 149 yards on 9 carries.

The Dons JV Football Team, winners of two in a row, hit the road once again to face the Vallejo High School Redhawks for the last preseason game of the season. #10 Illias Kaplanes-Jones receives the opening kickoff and makes a nice return up the left side to set up the Dons offense on their own 42 yard line to start the game. #13 Tommy Terhar gets things going quickly for the Dons with a fantastic 43 yard run around the right side all the way down to the Redhawks 15 yard line. On the very next play, quarterback Wyatt Zawadski finds #18 Grant Ricker on a post over the middle for the Dons first touchdown of the game. The extra point by River Lockwood is good and the Dons take a quick 7-0 lead over the Redhawks.

A stout Dons defense stifles the Redhawks offense with key plays by #4 Chris Copeland and #20 Jonah Rivera who made a nice tackle on a botched punt long snap.

A nifty run by #3 River Lockwood for 24 yards sets up first and goal for the Dons, and #52 Amin Noroozi takes a direct snap and powers into the endzone for what appears to be the Dons second touchdown, but a penalty brings the ball back to the 15 yard line and the Dons eventually turn the ball over on downs.

#3 River Lockwood with a nifty run through the Redhawks defense.

Another strong defensive series by the Dons punctuated by a stellar sack by #54 Oliver Stoneman forces the Redhawks to punt to Kaplanes-Jones, but the punt is blocked by #84 Bryce Birdsong, giving the Dons great field position.

A stout Dons defense once again leads Acalanes to victory.

Terhar follows with three straight strong runs, capped off by a touchdown run up the middle to extend the Dons lead to 15-0 after Ricker runs a high PAT snap into the endzone for a 2 point conversion.

The Dons defense once again stuffs Vallejo’s offense, and the following offense drive is highlighted by a nice Zawadski pass to #89 Josh Elerts and an amazing catch and run by #18 Grant Ricker for a 45 yard touchdown. Lockwood’s extra point extends the Dons lead to 22-0 at the end of the first half of play.

#18 Grant Ricker sprints to the end zone for one of his two touchdowns on the day.

On the first series of the second half, the Dons defense once again makes a series of strong stops punctuated by a forced fumble recovered by #73 Adam Caicedo. On the following defensive series, #89 Josh Elerts leaps and bats a Redhawks pass into the air and into the arms of #84 Bryce Birdsong for an interception and another Dons defensive turnover.

The following offensive series by the Dons is highlighted by a strong run up the middle by Terhar, and nice pass and catch from Zawadski to Elerts for a big gain, and a touchdown run up the middle by Kaplanes-Jones. Lockwood’s extra point attempt clangs off the upright to give the Dons a 28-0 lead at the end of the third quarter.

On their next possession, the Redhawks finally find the endzone to avoid the shutout, but are unable to convert the extra point after a botched snap.

The final series for the Dons is highlighted by another strong run by Terhar before Zawadski takes the final snap and kneels for the Dons victory.

The Dons once again dominated all aspects of the game with strong special teams play, a crisp offense and a stout defensive presence to give them three wins in a row headed into league play next week.
