Last Wednesday, the Lady Dons headed to Walnut Creek to face the Las Lomas Knights for the second time this season. The Knights started strong and won the sprint and scored the first goal, but the dynamic team of sophomore Ella Del Rosario and senior Wendy Heffelfinger answered that goal with some great teamwork to tie the game 1-1. Just for good measure, Ella sent another one to the back of the net before the first quarter ended. Wendy started the second quarter off with a gorgeous goal of her own which was answered by another Las Lomas goal to keep the score within one. Senior Sophie Hendrickson kept the score ticking in the right direction with another Aca goal and less than a minute later, Wendy scored another for Acalanes bringing the score to 5-2 at the half. Lots of shots were fired in the beginning of the 3rd quarter, but freshman goalie, Adelyn Horciza was on fire with countless stellar saves! Ella was tired of the scoreless quarter and scored a gorgeous goal bringing the Acalanes lead 6-2. Junior Levand Koopah fired off a canon to up the lead by one more. Both Sophie and sophomore Addison Dankworth kept things exciting with a goal each to end the 3rd quarter. The 4th quarter started with Wendy earning a hat trick with her third goal of the game! Unfortunately, the Knights weren’t ready to go home and scored three back-to-back goals but it wasn’t enough to catch the Lady Dons who took another W with a final score of 10-6.

Senior Night will honor Melina Nath, Sophie Hendrickson, Liv Hoppe, Wendy Heffelfinger, Brooklyn Plomp, Kyra Weiss, and Jenny Haugner
