In Tuesdays action on the tennis courts, Acalanes hosted the College Park Falcons and dominated with an 8-1 overall win. An encouraging home crowd was treated to many great matches. Thank you to all who came to cheer on the Dons!
In singles play at Line 1, Sophomore Aamena Shipchandler handled her opponent in two sets 6-2, 6-0. Junior Piper Duff played line 2 and won 6-0, 6-3. Frosh Grace Colaco held a tight match, but narrowly missed the win at Line 3. Junior Emily Roberts probably had the quickest match of the afternoon shutting out her competitor 6-0, 6-0. Another tight match was had by Junior Sienna Moise at Line 5 who started down after the first set 3-6, but rallied back in the second for a narrow 7-6 second set win and then closed it out with a 10-4 tie breaker. She was awarded Player of the Match after that fight! Rounding out singles play at Line 6, Senior Nicole Parlett settled in after a close first set for a 7-6, 6-3 victory.
In doubles action, Line 1 Olivia Dawkins and Lucy O’Brien were paired up and beat their opponent in two sets. Seniors Anna MacLeod and Lilou Picard also won handedly in two sets, 6-2, 6-1 at Line 2. Jacqueline Kuhner and Jadith LaBonge rounded out the doubles sweep winning 6-1, 6-0. Blue was clearly the reigning color on the courts today!
The Varsity Girls will play Campolindo on Thursday at Campo. The match starts at 4:00 and we would love to have visiting fans cheering! The next home match is Tuesday, 9/19 against Northgate. Go Dons!
