Supermoon Shines on Freshman Football

The supermoon wasn’t the only thing shining brightly Wednesday night at Acalanes stadium! The Dons hosted Monte Vista and walked away with their second win of the season beating the Division 1 mighty Mustangs 52-30.

It was a spectacular showing in all aspects of the game. Quarterback Tyler Winkles (#5) threw 7 touchdown passes for a total of 359 yards. Receivers on the end of those passes include Grant Condy (#88) with 3 touchdowns, Finn Rivera (#13) also with 3 touchdowns and Jackson Bosseli with 1 touchdown. In addition, Rivera also had an extraordinary 4th touchdown with a 95-yard kickoff return in the 3rd quarter.

Not sure who was more excited, Winkles or Coach Rowell

Massive shout-out to the Dons’ defense. They proved that they are a force to be reckoned with holding the Mustangs to 4 total passing yards. That’s correct – 4 total passing yards.

Fear the Blue!

Speaking of defense, Ben Mickelson (#24) was the Max Preps Defensive player of the game with 4 solo tackles, 1 assist, and an interception. Other outstanding defensive efforts by James Cusumano (#6), Daniel Dune (#76) and Hugo Perez-Villafan (#32).
