Girls Varsity Volleyball improve to 4-0 in League with dismantling of College Park

With the upcoming monster game against Campolindo on Wednesday night, it would have been easy to overlook the visiting College Park Falcons. With a few of the Lady Dons under the weather and sitting out, the rest of the team needed to dig deep into their energy tank to make sure they would head into the Campo matchup with an unblemished league record.

In set one, #8 Rena Liu, came out hot with one of her trademark aces. #17 Sophia Terry, who had an awesome all-around performance, had a sweet roof block to help clip with the wings of the Falcons. #1 Jade Profilio also had a powerful ace to increase the Dons lead. #13 Addi Ames crushed a well-placed kill to gain another point. #11 Christina Hageboeck had a couple of aces as well to really put College Park on their heels. #9 Piper Coy finished off the set with a kill, helping the Dons win 26-16.

In set two, looking to build off set one’s momentum, #5 Mimi Maycock smoked a kill off a beautiful set from #16 Emme Seelenbacher. #7 MaeLin Mason brought the house down with a monster kill. The Lady Dons really had their hitting shoes on today, as #10 Annie Baker continued the killing spree with a great kill. Jade had a great dig to save a point that showed our defense cannot be taken lightly. Emme also had an ace to finish off set to give the Dons a 25-17 set two win.

In set three, Rena did her usual thing, and smoked a couple of aces. Mimi continued her hot hitting with multiple kills. Emme had an awesome quick set to Sophia for a kill that had the Falcons defense gasping for air. Piper had a kill off the blocker’s hands to gain another point. College Park had no chance in this one as the Dons won set #3, 25-14 to finish the sweep. Hopefully, this will allow Acalanes to get home early, get some rest, and come out firing Wednesday night against Campolindo.
