Editor’s Note: The JV Reporter was on assignment out of state. We apologize as today’s coverage will pale in comparison to the normal standards all our readers are used to. We value your business and will do our best to make it up to you in the finale against Campo.

The JV Dons started and finished strong, winning the first and fourth quarters to complete the series sweep against the Matadors (now 6-11 overall, 2-10 league) who have had a tough year and seem to be in a rebuilding mode program-wide. The Dons were actually down one at the end of three but made it out alive with the final score being 60-53. The Dons are back to .500 on the season at 10-10 and 6-5 now in league play.

As a team, the Dons shot 18/33 (55%) from 2FG, 3/15 (20%) from 3FG, 21/48 (44%) overall and 15/18 (83%) from the line to go along with 31 rebounds, 9 assists and 11 turnovers.

No doubt about it, Player of the Game in this contest was Sophomore JB Frolich with a stunning stat line…24 points on 8/9 shooting, 2/2 from three, 6/7 from the stripe plus 8 rebounds, and another outstanding defensive performance. WOW.

Some other impressive numbers…Josh Elerts with 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Gavin Dodge with 9 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. Drew McKenzie with 7 points and 7 boards. Maddox Malm with a team-high +18 in 16 minutes.
