Frosh Boys Basketball has a tight match versus Campolindo in the end-of-season game, falling just short 38-40

First, much thanks to coach Thomas and Malm for their dedication, time and instruction! This year’s frosh team turned out to be tough, well organized and competitive. Thank you to the boys basketball team for all their hard work, dedication and an exciting season. It was awesome to see how the players grew over the past months and really came together strong as a team!

Here are some highlights from Saturday’s, 2/11/2023 Game

Dons trailed by 6 at halftime but fought back with effective blocks, rebounds, well executed plays in the second half.

It was an even match throughout the game but came up short by 2 points to end the game 38 to 40 Campo.

The Dons recorded 28 rebounds (11 offensive, 17 defensive) and shot 40% FG% for the game. The Cougars recorded 19 rebounds (5 offensive, 14 defensive), and shot 41% FG% for the game. But the Dons struggled from the free throw line (shooting 7-18) while committing 22 turnovers that left several points on the table.

Gavin Beers led the Dons with 14 points and 7 rebounds, and 2 steals. Lorenzo Cangini added 12 points, followed by Arman Craig with 6 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks.

The Frosh Dons complete the season 6-6 in league and 15-10 for the season. This year’s frosh team were gritty and played well together. Next year will be exciting!
