The Acalanes Varsity Girls Soccer wrapped up the week with a well deserved 2-0 win over Benicia Saturday night on the road after drawing on Tuesday with highly ranked Windsor and Thursday with tough local opponent College Park. 15 minutes into the Benicia game Senior Emmi Cronin scored 20 yards out with a beautiful lob over the Panther’s goalie. Senior Jacque Peacock served up the assist on the goal. Five minutes later, Peacock scored one of her own with a rocket to the upper right corner off crisp passes from sophomore Taylor Mikalis and senior Camryn Salazar. The Acalanes defensive line of Tatum Keely, Victoria Hiatt, Demi Woods, Taylor Carlin, and Chloe Quintella controlled all three hard fought games this week, snuffing out opponents’ drives and continually launching counter-attacks while senior Goalie Catherine Judson pounced on the few shots that managed to get past her defenders.
Next up for the Dons is a road game rematch at Northgate Tuesday night at 7pm. The Dons will be looking for a little redemption from their early season 1-1 tie against the Broncos. Let’s go, Dons!
