Even before Acalanes was back in session after the winter break, on Tuesday 1/3, our JV team was back on the cold and drizzly pitch at Alhambra High School to take on the Bulldogs. From the start, Acalanes dominated possession, with our first 2 goals scored in the first 10 minutes of play, #1 by Zoya Acuna, and #2 thanks to Sisi Houston. Lefty Dani Green scored goal #3, and Lily Polkinhorn finished out the 2nd half, bringing the Dons score to 4-0. 

The second half started off strong with a goal attempt by Sisi Houston, initially deflected by the goalie, but skillfully completed by Maya Shinaman. With 5 goals in the bank, the Dons continued to challenge the Bulldogs’ keeper with multiple attempts on goal by Livi Foster, including a great cross by Kailee Van Handel, and more attempts by Zoya Acuna, & Sisi Houston. 

But wait, you can’t have all these shots on goal without the solid defense by players like Alana Brinkman, Katelyn Weiss, & Molly Schofield, to name just a few of the fighters on the field tonight. And how about our keeper Sophia Gold adding another shutout to her record?

In the end, the Dons dominated the Bulldogs 5-0.
