In a battle of the top two teams in the Diablo Foothill Athletic League, the JV Girls Soccer team lost 1-0 to the College Park Falcons on Thursday night. The teams played to a 1-1 tie in the last affair and were once again evenly matched in the sequel.

The Dons saw strong midfield play from Zoya Acuna and Lily Polkinhorn as well as multiple offensive threats from Dani Green and Sisi Houston. Goalie Sophie Gold had multiple saves and at the half the score was deadlocked at 0-0.

In the second half, College Park had a sure goal, but Edie Berzansky saved a deflected ball to keep the tie alive. Minutes later, however, another deflected ball found its way into the net to give the Falcons the 1-0 advantage.

The Dons suffered only their second defeat on the season and first in league play. They are 9-2-3 on the season and 4-1-2 in league.
